The Power of Listening

Did you know listening is one of the most powerful tools for mental health support?

When someone shares a struggle, our instinct is often to jump in with advice or reassurance. But active listening (slowing down, reflecting back what we’ve heard, and giving someone space to be fully heard) can be more healing than any “fix.”

Here are three simple listening habits that make a difference:
👂 Pause before responding. Make sure you’ve absorbed what you’ve heard.
💬 Reflect, don’t rush to respond. “It sounds like you’re feeling…” is more impactful than “You should…”
🤝 Stay present! Resist the urge to multitask and give your full attention to the conversation.

These small skills build trust and connection.
